I called for Ola cab service upon arriving at Gurgaon Railway Station this morning (10th Oct) to go to the Uppal Ecohotel near National Highway 8, Dwarka N.H. Link Road Near IGI airport. CRN : 417838931 RJ10TA1259. On the way near Palam Vihar, a bypasser stopped us and informed the driver that all Ola & Uber cabs are on strike today and he should not proceed to drop me at my destination. After much persuasion I convinced my driver to at least drop me at Mc Donalds located in Palam Triangle as I had a large backpack and a smaller backpack to carry.
I also contacted Ola Customer Care immediately and one Yasmin 'advised' me that I should get off the vehicle and find my way as the cab driver refuses to continue the journey. She kept putting me on hold and the call lasted 13mins till I ran our of credit. Of course she said I dont have to pay the fare INR 126 which anyway I would not have paid! Do customers matter at all to you? After having my breakfast, I called my friend who then arranged for another cab driver (also Ola) to pick me up from Mc Donalds.
CRN 417892650 picked me from Mc Donalds to send me to the Uppal but alas another misfortune! This driver did not know the place, spoke only in Hindi and I don't understand but said something like no destination is locked in so not guided by map. After a big merry go round I paid a whopping INR 413 to reach the destination.
Surprisingly the 2nd driver was able to reach the destination despite the so-called 'strike'. What is happening? And here I thought Ola and Uber are reliable cab service companies in INDIA.
Coming from abroad, this has left a very bitter experience about the cab services in India. Drivers unable to manage basic English is even more pathetic!
I travel to India often, mostly Bangalore and this time I toured Manali, Dharmsala and Jodhpur but never did I have such a bad experience elsewhere.
You Delhiwalas really need to buck up! what good is there in having sophisticated online public transport services when they are NOT RELIABLE AND NOT CUSTOMER FOCUSED!!! Totally disappointing.
Delhi?...a metropolitan city??? Long way to go guys! Please wake up from your deep slumber and improve on your services if you want to be globally competitive!!!.

I am not just expecting a response. On the contrary I DEMAND AN EXPLANATION or not i will try other means to make myself heard!!
