DEAR SIR,

IAM WORKING AT MELMARUVATHUR AS A MANAGER IN INDANE GAS AGENCY. I WAS RETURNING FROM MADURAI TO MELMARUVATHUR BY BOARDING AN SETC BUS (NAGERCOIL CHENNAI) AT 18.30HRS AT MATTUTHAVANI BUS STAND (BUS NO. TN...7395) WITH A TICKET TO MELMARUVATHUR FOR RS.260/-. THE BUS HALTED BEFORE SAMAYAPURAM TOLL GATE AT HOTEL GOWRI AT 10.10 PM  AND I WENT INSIDE THE HOTEL TO FINISH DINNER ALONG WITH THE DRIVER & CONDUCTOR WHO WERE VERY WELL IN VIEW WITH ME. THERE WAS NO CROWD AT THE HOTEL AND ONLY ONE OTHER BUS (MADURAI TO CHENNAI - MALLIGAI HIGHWAY RIDER) HAD ARRIVED THERE. JUST I FINISHED DINNER AND I WENT INSIDE BATHROOM AND CAME OUT IN A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND TO MY EMBARRASSEMENT I COULD NOT FIND MY BUS. THE BUS HAD LEFT WITHOUT ANY TRACE. THIS WAS VERY HORRIBLE & WHEN I ENQUIRED THE HOTEL STAFF , THEY SAID THAT THE BUS HAD LEFT AND THE BUS CREW  HAD NOT ENQUIRED FOR ANY LEFT PASSENGER. I WAS ADVISED TO BOARD THE NEXT BUS (MALLIGAI HIGHWAY RIDER) SO THAT THEY CAN DROP ME TO MY BUS. BUT THE CREW OF MALLIGAI HIGHWAY RIDER REFUSED TO DO SO EXCEPT IF I PURCHASED A FRESH TICKET TO MY DESTINATION PLACE WHICH AMOUNTS TO RS.170/-. I REMINDED THEM THAT I ALREADY POSSESS TICKET TO MELMARUVATHUR AND THAT MY BUS CREW HAD LEFT ME FOR WHICH THE CREW OF THIS BUS RESPONDED THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO BOARD ME IN THEIR BUS WITH MY OLD TICKET EVENTHOUGH THERE WERE SEATS AVAILABLE IN THE BUS, SINCE THE CHECKER WILL PENALISE THEM. I WAS LEFT STRANDED AT THE HOTEL AND FINDING NO OTHER MEANS I PAID A FRESH TICKET OF RS.170/- TO MY DESTINATION AND BOARDED THE BUS. I FEEL HUMILIATED BY THE SERVICE OFFERED BY SETC WHEN I WAS LEFT STRANDED AT AN HOTEL AT 10.30 PM BY IRRESPONSIBLE CREW OF MY FIRST BUS WHO WERE IN SUCH A RUSH THAT THEY NOT EVEN CHECK THE NO. OF PASSENGERS INSIDE THE BUS BEFORE LEAVING THE HOTEL. I DO NOT KNOW THE STRESS OR WORK CONDITION IN WHICH THOSE CREW DID SUCH A THING AND I PARDON THEM FOR THEIR MISTAKE. BUT I REQUEST SETC TO REFUND THE RS.170/- I HAD TO PAY FOR CONTINUING THE JOURNEY IN THE NEXT BUS EVENTHOUGH I HAD VALID TICKET TO MY DESTINATION. I MAKE AN HUMBLE SUGGESTION TO SETC TO CONSIDER SUCH SITUATIONS WHERE THE BUS CREW COULD THEMSELF TAKE HUMANE DECISIONS WITHOUT FEARING PENALTIES FROM CHECKERS. HEREWITH I HAVE ATTACHED THE COPY OF TICKETS OF BOTH BUSES I TRAVELLED. KINDLY REFUND THE RS.170/- I HAD TO PAY AGAIN FOR CONTINUING MY JOURNEY DUE TO THE TIMEKEEPING MEASURES ADOPTED BY THE CREW OF NAGERCOIL CHENNAI BUS.
